Beautiful Bantayan

*Traveled to Bantayan Island in May 2014
I've enjoyed Bantayan Island so much that it's become my #1 Philippine island easily. I don't know why but there is this irresistible charm to it. The travel time was really long, (had to take a one hour plane ride from Manila to Cebu, travel 5 hours by land via a small van and finally a 2 hour boat ride); but this confirmed to me that the longer the road, the more beautiful the destination is. I can still remember how the waters glimmered, almost blinding my eyes as we approached the shore. It was the most beautiful beach I've laid my eyes on. I instantly fell in love, and the feeling was consistent all throughout our stay. The ambiance was serene, perfect for honeymooners.

Look at the crystal clear water!

We booked Anika Resort which is just close to the port. Their rooms were affordable but nice. They were made out of container vans which was so cool. (Insert my Tiny House dream) 💚 They had big balconies to hang out at. The hotel premise was so chill and functional at the same time. Their restaurant named Chloe served the freshest food. I loved their scallops and fish.

We spent every afternoon roaming around either on a bike or by foot. We checked out the many beaches and restaurants at other hotels. We especially enjoyed Tristan's Mexicana Pizza.

Tristan's Mexicana pizza. Slurppp.

Random bar in Bantayan Island

I loved the people of Bantayan Island, especially how gratified they are because of the business the tourists brings to their small island. It felt good to be the recipient of their kind words as it is our pleasure to help them in that small way.

Honestly, there's nothing much to do in Bantayan but secretly.. that's how I like it. 😉
